This time, for the con-goers.

As we all know, as con-goers, we won't eat much at a con, but we won't eat health. Here are a few things to take with you as you wander about the con to not only make sure you eat, but you eat healthy:

- Water
- Juices
- Slim Fast, or similiar canned shakes.
- Granola Bar
- Fruits- Apples store best out of the fridge.
- Mixed Nuts
- Peanut butter sandwiches on whole grain breads
- Bagles
- Tuna Salad Snack Kits
- Whole Grain Crackers

If you have a cooler/Mini-Fridge in you hotel room:

- Cooked rice
- Sandwich meats- for sandwhiches. Make sure you have whole grain bread.
- pre-cut and cleaned veggies.
- Yogurt


It a very small list, but here is a few suggestions. If you have anymore, list them!

This is for us creative folk out there- no matter what it is you create.

This is to help shove you out of a block, or just to add some more inspiration.

Take what I like to call an "Idea sketchbook (or camera if it is for photography)." You will use this to take quick sketches, design thumbnails, story ideas, photographs...ect.

Make sure you dress appropriately for the day.

Make sure you have enough water.

Plan for a walk. Aim for about 1 mile round trip for the beginner- more if you can walk a mile easy.

Have a friend. Makes it more fun.

Plot out a place for your walk. It could be a metro park, or it could be through the city. Make sure you plan your route- and plan your time. This may include possible detours.

Then you take your walk. Look around you, everywhere you go. Pay attention to detail. Even if you only see one item in your route, record it. Record all ideas that you may see.

Not only may this get you out of a block, or give you an idea you never thought of- it's a good deal of exsersize.

And you have a journal of all the ideas for you to be creative with!

Okay, so I've been drinking this like crazy at work (Tim Horton's) because I don't have to add any cream and sugar and I'm trying very hard to stay away from the pop.

You'll need:
- Green Tea bags
- Hot water
- Ice
- Honey

Brew the tea with the hot water.
For every one cup (8oz) of hot tea, I add one teaspoon of honey.
I let it steep for a little while, twice as dark as I'd normally drink green tea.
Then, stirring to make sure the honey has dissovled, I take the tea bag out.
I fill the rest of the cup with an equal amount of ice, and still to chill.

The ice melts partially and you have double the amount of tea you started with!

So, with one serving of the above mentioned.



You get 8oz Green Tea, 8oz Water, and 1 tsp Honey.

That totals:
45 kcal
0 fat
13g carbs
0 sodium



For a 16oz drink that's proven to boost your metabolism and help digestion along with all those great anti-oxidents to keep you healthy, I think its a bargain!

Some of my Self-inspiration [Jun. 2nd, 2008|01:20 am]

I'd like to start off by sharing my current inspiration with everyone.

As many know, there is a great legend in Japan and now world wide about the 1,000 origami cranes.

My take on that is this:

- Substitute cranes for butterflies (light and airy creatures, like I want to be).
- Fold one per pound I lose.
- String them up in a visible spot and take pride in the pounds I've lost.


I'm starting with my highest weight, which I reached about a month ago. So my goal number of butterflies is 60. I already have 10 strung up across my closet door. I can't help but smile every time I look at them. I know how far I've come and how much closer I am to my goal.

I want 60 or more hanging there by Halloween of this year.

If you do this, too, you don't have to use the same one! There are plenty of free origami patterns out there!


P.S. This is appx 2.4 pounds per week. I'm SO confidant that I can do that!

This is the first post of the community.

I'd like to welome everyone here. Please, share your ideas openly. Don't be afraid to talk about your goals or tips you've found to reach them. If you have a great recipe or an exercide that's worked well, tell everyone else!

And please show everyone anything that you've been inspired to be fit and healthy by, such as art work or your current cosplay project or even your current favorite game that has gotten you more active.


We all want to hear about it! At least I know that I do!
